To Become a RESNET Rater with Eco Smart Building

• You must apply to Eco Smart Building and supply the materials listed below. Application does not guarantee certification.

1. CV on you and/or your company
2. Current certifications, status and standing
If Applicable:
3. Current/past providers’ contact information with dates of when they were your provider
4. Proof of general liability Insurance
5. Example report from a rating that you presented to a client
Eco Smart Building will review all applications and request additional information as needed during the review process.
About the HERS Index
The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) is a 0 to 100 index assigned to building projects by certified RESNET raters. The HERS Index number relates the modeled project with a reference home that meets the minimum International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) code requirements.
For example, say a home is modeled using REM/Rate and the model indicates that the home will use 50% less energy then the reference home: The HERS score is 50. A HERS score is the North American industry standard used for rating energy efficiency of a project.
